This sliding sash hood enclosure is designed for personnel protection during applications involving powder hazards. It is engineered to contain processes involving a Natoli Tablet Press and a SOTAX MT50 Hardness Tester.
The construction materials include a polypropylene superstructure with clear acrylic viewing panels and a chemically resistant black phenolic resin base with dished edges to contain spills within the containment zone. There are two top-hinged front doors and side access doors that can be opened during non-operational periods, allowing for regular maintenance and cleaning of the equipment inside.
Two top-mounted fans are paired with a dual-stack HEPA filter in a BIBO housing to ensure the proper filtration of exhausted air, with the option to recirculate if necessary. The FS1650 alarm system monitors face air velocities to ensure containment during operation, while minihelic gauges track pressure differentials to determine filter loads.
